When I was reached out to about helping plan a proposal at one of my favorite local parks, my immediate reaction was total glee!! I used to live very close to Gallery Park in Glenview and I loved watching the sunrise or set from there, surrounded by water and the little bits of nature we can get in the suburbs. Even if the original plan was to propose on a different day and a different location, it came out so beautifully at Gallery Park and it was another location that held significance for Dean and Kaylee since they often would go on bike rides along the trails there. I loved getting to be a part of it and pretend that I was just a stranger who happened to be taking pictures of some nearby flowers 🙂 The look of shock and excitement was so rewarding and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to capture such a special moment in their life with each other.
Due to schedules changing, wee chose to complete the engagement photoshoot at Chicago Botanic Garden a few months later, and it could not have been more perfect. The sunset was just as pretty that evening, their outfits were spot on and complemented each other so well, they were more than willing to frolic in the fields that I asked them to which, by the way, is exactly what you’re getting yourself into when hiring me as your photographer haha. Without their willingness to play around and have fun, we wouldn’t have gotten the shots we did and you wouldn’t be able to see the love they have for each other and the playfulness that I feel keeps love young. I love shoots like this. If traditional photoshoots aren’t your jam but fun dates where you get to be silly and romantic with your partner are (with a third-wheeling photographer), contact me here for more info 🙂
